A systems perspective is used to examine normal human physiology followed by the pathophysiology of common diseases, including the incidence, etiology, manifestation, and prognosis. The physiologic basis for selected complimentary/alternative therapeutic interventions is addressed. Emphasis placed on students’ ability to analyze and articulate the changes in normal physiologic function that occurs with disease as a basis for advanced practice assessment and intervention in primary health care settings.
