ENVS 232 - Introduction to Environmental Science Explores fundamentals of biological and physical sciences and their interrelationships and applications to the study of the environment. Focuses on resource assessment, management, the effects on the Earth and the quality of human health. Cost/benefit analyses and risk assessment are stressed with respect to personal and community environmental choices. Topics include Energy, Pollution, Remediation, Sustainability, and Biotic Interactions. Students create and present point/counterpoint arguments on two controversial environmental issues. Field experiences and some group work. (Lecture 2 hours)
