NURS 121 - Fundamentals of Nursing


This course introduces students to the nursing role of provider of care, the nurse-client relationship, caring behaviors, health states, geriatric nursing principles, cultural and spiritual components of nursing care, and the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on developing communication, identifying measures that prevent the spread of infection, and planning care that meets the hygiene, mobility, patient teaching, and safety needs of adults. Students will learn about the Franciscan values and Catholic Social Teaching as it relates to concepts learned in this course.
