PHIL 114 - Logic: Creative and Critical Thinking This course will engage and explode many of the cliches that often substitute for proper reasoning. Students will hone skills at recognizing logical inferences, organizing ideas, providing evidence and support for claims, identifying common mistakes in reasoning and argumentation, and understanding, analyzing, and evaluating the claims of others. Specific topics include: types of reasoning, argument forms, categorical logic, fallacies, meaning and language. May also cover proofs and basics of symbolic logic.
