DMS 164 - Medical Sonography Physics I


This course is a study of the physical principles of ultrasonic waves and their propagation, detection, and interaction with matter including biologic effects.  The course also includes a study of the physics of doppler and the principle of doppler techniques.  Bioeffects and safety measures as they pertain to an ultrasound will be explored.

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: SCIE 257 or SCIE 273
Corequisite: MATH 133 and SCIE 257
