PHLB 105 - Phlebotomy This course will prepare students to perform Phlebotomy in the clinical setting. The course content includes medical terminology and anatomy applicable to the practice of phlebotomy. Other content areas include specimen collection and storage, patient identification, safety, infection control, and blood collection procedures. Venipuncture will be highly emphasized with student laboratory components. Communication and professionalism will be reviewed. After successful completion of the didactic component, the student will complete 120 clinical hours at our affiliate sites. Successful completion of the course will allow students to be eligible for the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) Phlebotomy Exam.
