CRIM 300 - Corrections This course is intended as a survey of the corrections system and will provide an overview of current institutional practices, policies, legal issues, and the field of corrections. The course focuses on correctional practices, and the role of institutions within the corrections system. Students will explore the history of jails, prisons, prison life, probation, and community corrections, along with challenges facing correctional populations and correctional staff. It will further explore the principles and practices of treatment options provided to offenders in various types of correctional settings.
