MATH 274 - Foundations of Math for Educators II This course builds upon foundational mathematical concepts essential for elementary education teachers, focusing on geometry, measurement, data, and probability while reinforcing number sense. The curriculum is structured around 12 hours of data analysis and probability, 18 hours of geometry and measurement and 15 hours of number sense/operations to ensure a strong grasp of these key mathematical areas. Topics include spatial reasoning, properties of geometric figures, measurement techniques, data analysis, and fundamental probability concepts. Through interactive activities, problem-solving exercises, and discussions on pedagogical approaches, students will deepen their understanding of mathematical reasoning and instructional strategies for young learners.
