HLSC 115 - Advanced EMT Preparation


This didactic course provides in-depth instruction on the advanced knowledge and skills required for the Advanced EMT (AEMT) level of practice. Emphasizing the assessment and management of medical and traumatic emergencies, students will learn to initiate intravenous therapy, administer approved medication, and perform advanced airway techniques. The course prepares students for clinical practice, field internships, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Advanced EMT certification examination. This course focuses on cognitive and psychomotor competencies through classroom lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on skills labs.
