LANUR 320 - Adult Health Nursing III The course focuses on the advanced concepts common to the acutely ill adult across the lifespan. The associate degree nursing student will examine nursing process as it is applied towards the care of the unstable ill adult in the critical care setting. The roles of the healthcare professionals on the emergency and critical care team will be identified and observed in the clinical setting. Discussion regarding the priorities of care, the complications of trauma and shock and the medical management of selected critically ill clients will be reviewed. This course will provide a basic review of knowledge related to disasters, mass casualty incidents as well as complex emergencies. Clinical judgement activities will be performed in the classroom as well as clinical setting to engage the associate degree student nurse in clinical reasoning as well as clinical judgement. Includes clinical experience in an acute care setting.
