NURS 131 - Introduction to Health Assessment Laboratory


This lab is designed to complement content taught in the co-requisite course; Introduction to Health Assessment. Individual body system focused assessments are demonstrated and a comprehensive head to toe assessment is used to collect objective physical examination findings. Nursing diagnoses will be identified based on data analysis of each body system. Basic interviewing techniques, physical examination skills, and documentation of data are acquired in the laboratory setting with application in a clinical setting. Upon completion of the course the student will be able to demonstrate completion of focused body assessments, a comprehensive head-to-toe assessment, and documentation of associated findings.
