NURS 293 - Foundations of Health Policy


This course provides an overview of the processes for health policy development, implementation, analysis, and evaluation at the local, state, national, and global level. Models for policy development and analysis will be explored, as well as evidence-based findings which inform health care policy. The impact of ethical perspectives, socioeconomic factors, and political elements on the health care policy agenda will be analyzed. Emphasis will be placed on the role of the nurse and other health care professionals in shaping and implementing health-related policy.
