Certified Nurses Aide Training Course

This is a training course designed to prepare students to assist in caring for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed practical nurse. The course content includes an introduction to the healthcare delivery system and the role of the Nurse Aide. Students will get an overview of the aging process, verbal and nonverbal communication, resident’s rights, basic knowledge and skill related to patient care procedures, hygiene, mobility, and restorative services. The course will consist of classroom, campus laboratory, and supervised clinical experience in a long-term care facility. Successful completion of the program will allow the student to be eligible to take the Indiana State Certified Nurse Aide Exam.
