Pre-Medicine: Biology Focus, B.S.

SF’s Biology Pre-Medicine program prepares students for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and to be a competitive applicant for medical school.  Students completing this undergraduate degree would also meet requirements for other pre-professional careers such as physician assistant and pharmacy graduate programs.

Degree Requirements

The B.S. in Biology Pre-Medicine degree requires 128 credit hours:

• 36-37 credit hours of Franciscan Core general education courses
• 75 credit hours of prescribed courses in biology, chemistry, and physics,
• a minimum of 6 credit hours of directed electives in biology
• elective courses to reach 128 credit hours, including recommended courses required as prerequisites by some medical schools.
