Music Technology, B.S.

In the Bachelor of Science in Music Technology program, students will develop fundamental music technology skills and gain an understanding of the technical, business, and creative areas of music technology, recording engineering and production, music industry, post production and sound design, live sound and event production, and contemporary artist development and musicianship.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon graduation, students in the Bachelor of Science in Music Technology must:

  • Demonstrate advanced techniques using music production hardware and software.
  • Recognize career options and be able to outline a path to achieve career goals in at least one area of music technology.
  • Develop professional quality musical works related to their chosen concentration(s).
  • Analyze the compositional structures of contemporary musical works.
  • Demonstrate a functional proficiency in at least one area of instrumental or vocal performance.
  • Demonstrate advanced work skills relevant to their chosen concentration.

Degree Requirements

The Bachelor of Science in Music Technology requires 120 credit hours:

  • 59 credit hours in major required courses
  • 36 credit hours of Franciscan Core Curriculum courses
  • 25 credit hours in elective courses

Students are encouraged to consider two Music Technology Concentrations or a Minor

Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Music Technology Program must meet University of Saint Francis admission requirements.

Progression Requirements


Students in the Bachelor of Science in Music Technology Program complete a sophomore portfolio review.

Graduation Requirements


Students in the Bachelor of Science in Music Technology Program complete a senior portfolio review.
