The biology minor introduces students to fundamental topics in the areas of cell and molecular biology, genetics, physiology, and ecology and evolution. Two courses within specific 100 level courses must be taken, and four or five 200 level courses must be taken according to certain specifications.Upon graduation, biology majors are prepared for careers in research laboratories, environmental laboratories, conservation-related fieldwork, and other fields. At least one-third continue their education in either graduate or professional school, pursuing a master or a doctorate degree.

- 42 credit hours of major core requirements in biology, chemistry, and science
- 17 minimum credit hours of directed electives in biology
- 36-37 credit hours of Franciscan Core general education courses
- 8 credit hours of science electives
- elective courses as needed to complete 128 credit hours

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet University of Saint Francis admission requirements. To be successful in this program, it is suggested students rank in the upper half of their high school graduation class, have a GPA of at least 2.3 on a 4.0 scale and earn a Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) re-centered score of 1,000 or above (Verbal/Critical Reading and Math combined) or an American College Test (ACT) composite score of 21 or above. Progression Requirements
Biology majors must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0. Courses may be repeated only once. Graduation Requirements
Biology majors are required to pass an exit exam by the end of their senior year. |
