Chemistry Minor

Minor Requirements

A Chemistry minor provides a strong background in Chemistry for students majoring in some other discipline.  It is often used to improve chances of getting a job across the science spectrum or getting into graduate and a professional school.  Requirements include 18 hours of specific courses at the 100-200 levels, and options at the 300-400 level.

The Chemistry Minor requires 18 credit hours

• CHEM 141 - Principles of Chemistry I
• CHEM 142 - Principles of Chemistry II
• CHEM 241 - Organic Chemistry I
• CHEM 242 - Organic Chemistry II
• six credit hours of at least 300-level CHEM courses
• one course must include a laboratory
