Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Science and Society is a 120-credit hour degree with concentrations in Sustainability, Eco-Psychology, Science and Business, and Science and Communication concentrations. This program will provide a strong foundational understanding of scientific principles and skills, as well as interdisciplinary knowledge that will allow students to apply scientific skills in a practical manner, ultimately preparing students to enter the workforce upon graduation.  

 

Student Learning Outcomes

The student learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts in Science and Society are:

1.  Students are proficient in critical, analytical, and integrative thinking in the sciences.
2.  Students demonstrate knowledge of the major concepts and principals of the sciences and integrate this with the major concepts and principles within their concentration.
3.  Students use the scientific method to conduct hypothesis-driven research.
4.  Students demonstrate global consciousness, social responsibility, and ethical awareness in the pursuit of science.
5.  Students demonstrate leadership and the ability to work in teams.
6.  Studemts are proficient presenting information in oral and written form.
7.  Students are confident, satisfied, and well prepared to undertake careers within their field of study.
 
Degree Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts in Science and Scoiety requires 120 credit hours which includes:
  • 0-6 credit hours general education courses
  • 30-31 credit hours business core
  • 32-33 credit hours for major including 9 cr in FCC
  • 33-37 credit hours for electives.  (electives from any discipline to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours)
